ABOUT MIRJANA

I’m Mir - a media producer, traveller, and storyteller who believes destinations are more than backdrops. The culture, history, voices, and roots of a place are what make it unforgettable. My work blends travel filmmaking, documentary-style storytelling, and cinematic visuals to reveal the character of the people and places I feature.

And the thing is? These are places that I wanted to go, that I wanted to see, that I want to share with you.

This was a bit of 36.

Another beautiful and difficult year, growth never being comfortable - but we go through and learn from it anyways.

I couldn't make this video remotely close to as long as I would have like to, I couldn't include all the moments from this last year and half my videos have gone missing (only just realizing that while putting this together).

Big changes over my 36th year, loss of loved ones, new friendships and rekindling of old friendships.

I spent a lot of time alone over the course of this last year, a lot of my time spent outdoors walking barefoot around the countryside, through the forests and along the beaches. Camping in my car under the stars and figuring out bits and pieces of who I am, what it is I want in life and what I want to do.

My final few months of being 36 were jam packed - started a new business, saw income from it, started my own mini-series, had fun with that, moved in with my grandparents to take on the role as caregiver, put everything else on pause for that, all but moved into the hospital with nan when she broke her hip and through her recovery, visiting grandpa while he was in and out of the hospital himself during that time and then the day both of them were to finally move into their new retirement home together - nan was discharged from physio rehab, I was packing to be on my way to the airport, and grandpa passed away.

April 14 I landed in Ireland and will be calling this beautiful country my home for the next 2 years. It's been 2 months since I've arrived, grief, sadness, beauty, happiness, love, laughter and nature all woven together to build the days. Through the sadness, I'm grateful for the chance to have been able to say goodbye and know I am lucky enough to be in my favorite place to process it all and move forward with my own life.

I love looking through my photos and videos for my own "year in review", it's my second year doing it for my birthday and I encourage you to do one for yourself to highlight all the beautiful moments you've experienced over the last year you've lived. I'm already looking forward to seeing what next year's birthday reel will have captured.

Rhododendron season in the Irish mountains be like 🌸✨

An invasive, but beautiful species to Ireland - the colours with the blossoms really show the coverage of where this plant has taken over. Introduced in the 1700’s, blocking out the sunlight ultimately smothering the plant life on the ground floor beneath and poisonous to livestock… a deadly beauty for both flora and fauna here on the emerald isle.

What an emotional roller coaster… what you ordered vs what you got 🙃

What a fun little unboxing this was! Accompanied by all my little "tsk", "oh's" and sighs... 🫠

I’m stepping back into the world of sharing my life on social media again after a +5 year hiatus after some wild happenings, that more or less left me shut down to being open online. So as exciting as it is to be back? There’s definitely a level of nervousness that comes along with it.

I’ve lived a very private life the last 5-6 years and so putting it out there to make a calendar with some of my favourite photos, of some beautiful places I’ve been able to explore in 2025 feels quite intimate.

Each place in this calendar holds some element of emotional intimacy for me, and I already know I’m going to make another for 2027.

Thank you to those who purchased! I felt the love and a little bit of shooketh-ness when I realized I sold out of the entire order before they even arrived.

I hope you enjoy them on your walls as much as I enjoyed putting this together!

Not something you'd expect to find in Scotland..but the
crystal clear waters are tropical looking. They are
quite refreshing though, don't let the colours fool you - they
can be quick to take your breath away

Most beaches you come across in Scotland are quiet with
people, especially if you're traveling in the off season wher
it's slower with tourists. The views are still stunning in the
cooler months and if your brave, the water is inviting!

Achmelvich Beach has pay parking and a short walk from
the car park down to the beach, free range sheep along the
hillside and some cute walking trails to explore along either
side of the beach itself.

Cathedral Cave, an impressive cave hiding right in the hillside. One you wouldn't know is there unless you're looking for it and would have quite the shock stumbling upon it while walking through the hillside.

With multiple levels, viewpoints and tunnels throughout the slate hills - standing beside the cavern is almost daunting when looking up to the high vaulted ceiling and then peering down to the bottom of the cave below.

Chasing the sun at Loch Trool, waiting to find Jamie Fraser around every corner...

Commemorating the King of Scotland, Robert the Bruce, and the Battle of Trool in 1307 - a carved boulder has been placed at the lookout over the freshwater Loch. Standing aside the Mighty Merrick Mountain, the highest mountain in the Southern Uplands of Scotland.

A stunning walk, a challenging hike, waterfalls, woodland, the great Scot pines and views to leave you breathless.

A place that's as stunning in the mist as it is in the sun, with the Heather in bloom and sheep grazing every direction you look, your hair wet to your forehead and pathway of slick stones worth every step.

Come walk the old woods to King Arthur's Cave.

The magic in these woods.. you can almost hear the trees speaking to one another as you walk through their paths. Feel the eyes of the little ones watching you as you pick up fallen leaves and touch the smooth rocks of the stone spiral.

Welcome to King Arthur's Cave, in England - a name not necessarily pertaining to having connection with the King himself.. it has lore of legendary King Vortigern using it, who was a native British King fighting the invading Anglo-Saxons.

Or it could also just be a name lost in translation, as "Deu Arth" was the old Welsh name for the hil fort which eventually became "Relating to Arthur".

What we do know? It's an ancient woods worth the visit.

Breathe in the Irish breeze, walking through the forest as the sun sets.

There was a storm on its way in while I was walking through the forest, the birds in masses diving into the treetops in a syncronistic kind of way - up and down, up and down. The colours of the sky a blend of reds, pinks and purples - like that you'd find on an artists palette. The wind was wild with each gust stronger than the one before and the trees, the trees swaying in it as if they were dancing under the sky and bending to the will of the wind as the sky grew darker and then the rains came.

It was beautiful. Meanwhile, I was parked in my vehicle under the canopy, questioning just how much the trees would bend to the wind. Hearing voices flitting along the breeze - not quite earthly, but not entirely in my dreams..they sounded like those moments between being asleep and waking up. They kept me company throughout the night while I was tossing and turning while looking up above as the branches and leaves moved like a million little pieces, yet also as one. And just as dawn was about to break - the stars made an unexpected appearance as the colours of the sunrise took over the sky.

Welcome to Roots n Routes Media. Documentary-style travel, some clips will be quiet and scenic, and others will be a travelling-talkshow of sorts.
